External otitis: The most common disease of the ear associated with pseudomonas is external otitis and is not as serious as some doctors think. It may be the result of contaminated water getting into the ear or the excessive use of q-tips. A topical antibiotic with both a quinolone and a steroid is the treatment of choice.
