Breastfeeding n cold: All cold medications pass through breast milk. You can use Normal Saline spray for a stuffy/runny nose. If worse, you can try a decongestant at the lowest dose possible but watch your baby closely for drowsiness and/or irritability. If the baby does not develop those side effects, you can continue sparingly.

Be cautious: Many adult medications for a runny nose are in the antihistamine family and can adversely affect the production and quality of your breastmilk. Read the label and ask your doctor. If you can fight through it supportive care at home is best.
