Viral infection: Drink over 2 liters of water / day--not hard, as one bottled water is ½ a liter. That will help to flush out the virus circulating in your bloodstream. a nasal spray decongestant like Afrin has minimal absorption into your bloodstream. A drying antihistamine (those which can make you sleepy) like diphenhydramine is regarded as safe, too. Try half the usual dose, which would be 25 mg.
