What is the difference between sugar and carbohydrates if everything becomes glucose?

Glycemic Index: Sugars are simple carbs and are digested quickly. Other carbs can be more complex and have higher fiber content also, taking longer to digest. While the ultimate destination may be glucose, the pathways to get there are different when comparing some types of carbs to others. The differences between carbs are important. Those which digest quickly may not be as good for you.

Refined sugar: Refined sugar gets broken into glucose very quick practically as soon as it touches your mouth! carbohydrates include startches which take longer to be broken down into glucose.
