Gallbladder disease: Gallbladder disease commonly causes RUQ abdominal pain in the usual candidates: female, fat and 40. An ultrasound is diagnostic. Other conditions such as peptic ulcer, pancreatitis, colon cancer, and a myriad of other conditions. Colon cramping may be severe.Workup should proceed if the gallbladder ultrasound is normal.
