A member asked:

What are the functions of nucleic acids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

DNA.: Dna is the nucleic acid that contains all the genetic information. It is transcribed into rna, another nucleic acid when genes are processed to make proteins. Transfer RNA carries Amino Acids to sites where proteins are assembled. Other rnas are involved in controlling which genes are turned on (micro rna) and in the structure of ribosomes. Nas are found in viruses, bacteria, on up to humans.
