Usually minimal: Assuming that the cancer is not very large most basal cells can be removed with minimal scarring. Using excisions along natural skin lines and using small suture for closure can minimize cosmetic defects.

Scar: Excising a basal cell carcinoma leaves a scar, but otherwise no bad side effects.

Scarring: Depending on how the bcc is removed (and of course its size) there will be a scar. If a plastic surgeon who is skilled in these excisions performs the surgery, scarring will be the least possible for the specific lesion, size, and location. If you have this removed by a non-plastic surgeon, you may have a larger scar. Moh's does not cause less scar imho. See a plastic surgeon for the best outcome!
