Steam, voice rest: If you have a croaky voice, you may have a problem with your vocal cords (voicebox or larynx). Usually this condition is a result of overuse of the voice such as screaming, coughing or shouting too much. Sometimes it can be because of heartburn or allergies. If you are a smoker, or if it is getting worse, get checked by an ear nose and throat specialist, because you could have a growth or tumor.
