Good and bad: Through the years we have become more aware of behavior effects of both treatment and disease. Epilepsy is classic. Just having epilepsy can make you depressed, having to take daily meds is depressing, and many meds can have depressive side effects. There must always be a careful balance of benefit to side effect which has to be individualized for each patient.
