Better or worse: Epilepsy medications all have side effects. Some of the newer ones have less systemic toxicity but more behavioral effects. Some are positive with mood stabilizing, others bring out depression and dopey feelings. I have found that those with autistic spectrum can react to medications in an unpredictable manner. Just good seizure control often makes social interaction better.
