Yes: A common problem caused by fibroids is excessive menstrual bleeding that can lead to anemia. If you must change a pad or tampon every 1 to 2 hours for 1 to 2 days every month, there is a chance you are becoming anemic. You should see your doctor. Fortunately, not all fibroids cause heavy bleeding.
