Probably a floater: What you describe is a vitreous floater or technically a posterior vitreous detachment. The eye is filled with a clear gel called the vitreous. As we age, this gel degenerates, separates and causes these "floaters" they are usually not a problem, however, if they are relatively new or you have never seen an eye doctor, please get checked out just to make sure your eye is ok; have a great day!

Floaters: Your description sounds like floaters in the vitreous jelly inside your eye. These are common with age, near-sightedness, trauma, inflammation, and other issues. They rarely affect vision and the brain ignores them with time. If you develop a large increase in floaters, flashing lights, changes in vision, then you need to see an eye doctor to rule out retinal issues.
