Hot topic: My feeling, if you don't have pain, i feel completely acceptable and healthy. If it is painful for any reason, listen to your body and stop.

Depends: It depends on the type of exercise. Some exercises can be performed bare foot safely like yoga, karate, some dances. Most other exercises are better performed with some type of shoegear.
