Anorexics starve: Themselves over a period of time. They do eat, but avoid eating enough to be healthy. Bulimics eat then purge the food they eat or use laxatives to try to avoid gaining weight. It is a very dangerous disease which often people hide from their husbands, parents and other family members for quite a while. If you suspect that you or someone close to you has bulimia, get professional help asap.
