0.1 cm per year: Abdominal aorta below the renal arteries has normal growth rate around 0.1 cm per year usually after 40 yrs of age. But some people will have more rapid growth and will reach the size of an aneurysm ( usually 3cm and above) faster . The normal diameter of this aortic portion is around 1.5-2 cm . So normally it will take years to develop an aneurysm.
