A member asked:

Did my past amphetamin & xtc addiction (used daily for a year) put me at risk for developing a brain aneurysm? (clean for 6 years, 22 year old woman)

Possible, unlikely: Both of these substances are associated with blood vessel abnormalities during use. It is possible that prolonged use could lead to permanent structural changes but would be rare. Aneurysms are secondary to blood vessel wall weakening which can be caused by genetic or acquired risk factors. If you survived that year without strokes it is unlikely but the only way to know for sure is imaging
