Talk with doctor: Age, male sex, caucasion ancestry, genetics, smoking, high blood pressure, and COPD are the main risk factors for abdominal aortic aneurysm. Elderly white male smokers are at the highest risk, but anyone with an immediate family member with a history of an abdominal aortic aneurysm should review their risk factors with a doctor and ask about screening. Treatment is often minimally invasive.
Dr. Shadi Abu Halimah
Vascular Surgery 21 years experience
Yes: Abdominal aortic aneurysm or AAA is much more common in males but could happen in females usually at older age.

Doctor can evaluate: Extreme fatigue by itself is not normal and needs an evaluation. A primary care doctor can look for causes such as anemia, cancer, infections, hormonal imbalances, etc... Significant anemia (not enough blood) or thyroid hormone problems are two of the many possible causes. One can write down a list of symptoms, with a brief description of each, to take to the doctor.
A 25-year-old female asked:

My 1month old baby has gurgling sound when she breathes, its like she has phlegm, but she doesn't have cough or cold, its worst at night what could it be?

Dr. Sabina Ben-Zion

Can be normal: Babies often have a congested sound because they breathe through their nose and can't blow their noses. Your baby may also have some milk/formula in back of throat that she is not clearing or coughing like adults would. As long as your baby is not having labored breathing, and it is not interferring with her eating or sleeping, treat it as just a noise.

I am 38 f obese with fatty liver. I have lost 42 lbs since march . My hair is falling out. Could this be a sign of cirrhosis?

Probably not: Cirrhosis is not usually associated with hair loss.Any time there is a rapid reduction in weight or any kind of illness then we can see hair loss increase for several months. This type of hair loss comes back so not to worry. Good luck on your weight loss.
