Depends on age: Adolescents may not have pelvic exam but couselling, education. Sexually active women over age 21 will undergo pap testing and std testing as indicated. Pelvic exam may or may not be performed. Breast exam may be performed. Pap test done using speculum (slender metal or plastic device) that allows clinician to view cervix. Std testing may be w/ speculum or urine test.
