What happens when you are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Insulin Dependent: Your Insulin will need to come from daily injections or an Insulin pump. You will be guided towards a healthy lifestyle which will include attention to diet and exercise. You will need to check your blood sugars at home at least 4 times/day. Hopefully you have access to a diabetes center where you will spend time with certified diabetes educators who are key people in helping patients manage well.
