Individual response: I assume you mean a removable partial denture?(sometimes part dent is used in reference to bridgework-which is very easy to get used to). For rem part dentures, it is dependent on the the fit of the denture as well as, individual's own response. Some adapt easily, some do not. A neat "trick" is to chew some gum (suger-free/nonsticking) as soon as you have it placed. It helps to "train" muscles.

Can take a while: First-time partial wearers should expect it to take several weeks or more to really get used to their new partial...Though if you're patient, you'll get there. As long as there's no pain/rubbing, wear it as much as possible during the day to practice. Eventually you won't even notice it report sore spots/pain to your dentist so they can be adjusted to help you get used to the partial.

Each is different: Depends on the individual and the partial. It can be minutes to days, but persistence is the key. If it is a large partial the tongue and cheeks need to adapt. Speech may be affected for several days. If it is painful then it needs adjustment by your dentist. It takes up space and the surrounding tissues take time to adapt.

Depends : It depends on how many teeth are present in your mouth, how tolerable you are with removing false teeth 3-4 times a day in and out the mouth and your manual dexterity. Patients often adapt well. However, partial dentures is a temporary solution. Eventually they will break your teeth. Consider dental implants for a long term solid solution.
