Most likely.: Either of these two causes pain and cystic swelling and can become infected. First, a dormant pilonidal cyst, and then an infected sebaceous cyst. You need to have it looked at!

Pilonidal cyst: If this is what you have, they get infected commonly and have to be treated. Please discuss with your doctor.
