Reticular veins: The green veins in your legs are called reticular veins. They are veins that are bigger than spider veins but smaller than varicose veins. They are green because of where they are--just below the surface of the skin. Veins that are in the skin or on top of the skin are purple and red. Usually reticular veins are flat and smooth but if they are bulgy and bumpy they are becoming varicose veins.

Not sure: I am not sure what you are describing. Normal veins can appear blue or greenish in some people. A vein that has thrombosed can also appear a bit green, like an old bruise.

Reticular veins.: Green and blue veins that are larger than spider veins and smaller than varicose veins are called reticular or feeding veins. These are very common and are the result of many factors including genetics, sun exposure, trauma and aging. They are usually treated by sclerotherapy. If there are many of these veins then a vein evaluation may be indicated. See a vein specialist.
