Short answer is yes. Anything that increased intra-abdominal pressure can extend (or worsen) a hernia. Be careful.

Hernia can get worse with or without activity. Let your symptoms be your guide. If it bothers you, ease up. Listen to you body and use common sense. If the hernia is limiting your activity, consider a consultation with a general surgeon.
