AntibioticResistance: Acinetobacter baumainii are frequently resistant to multiple antibiotic classes through an array of resistance mechanisms, antibiotic altering enzymes, altered antibiotic targets, limited antibiotic entry and enhanced antibiotic egress. Serene oxacillinases and metallo beta lactamases are causes of increasing carbepenam resistance. Some strains are resistant to almost all known antibiotics.
