A member asked:

Which gums contain high levels of xylitol and are they unhealthy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several brands: There are a number of brands that contain xylitol and they are very beneficial to those that chew them. The xylitol is eaten by the bacteria that cause cavities and they are unable to digest it so they do not replicate, causing the number of bad bacteria to decrease. Artificial sugars and sugar alcohols can cause diarrhea if too much is ingested, so limit your intake.
