Crown / Veneer: Depending on the cause and the size / location of the crack, a crown or veneer can be placed to protect the tooth. Faded teeth sometimes occur after root canal treatment. For a cracked tooth, as long as the crack is not too large or deep along the root or splitting the tooth down the middle, a crown can be placed to protect the tooth from further fracture.

Filling or crown: Depending on how badly and deeply the tooth is cracked it can be fixed with a composite (white) filling or it may need a crown. If it is only cosmetic and in the front a veneer can also be placed.
