Core and crown: Depending on how badly the molar is busted, it can either be fixed by a filling which can be metal (amalgam) or composite (white), or it may need a core buildup ( fillings that acts as a foundation) and then a crown (cap).

Restore or extract: You can try to save the tooth, in which case you will probably need root canal treatment, post and core, crown. Or you can pull the tooth out and replace it with a bridge or implant.
