Takes a long time: Tuberculosis is such a slow growing germ that it takes quite a long time to kill it off. Treatment ranges in the 6m to 1yr timeframe. Depending on his strain, more than one drug may be necessary for a cure but cure is expected. Failure to comply with the treatment protocal can alloe a resistant strain to emerge & may prolong the duration of rx.
