Probably: I don't advocate barefoot running on any surface. But at least indoors on a treadmill is a controlled environment.

Wear shoes: Barefoot running is really not a good idea. I would recommend the "toe shoes" or skeleton shoes to simulate barefoot running if you really want to have the feel of barefoot but decrease your chances of hurting yourself.
