Specializes in Psychiatry

Psychotherapy: As much as 15% of the population report having had at least one panic attack in their lifetime. Help is available through psychiatrists, who can help sort through what's happening with you. There are good psychotherapies that can gradually help free you from panic attacks. Although Alprazolam can help to start with, an experienced homeopath can help also, so that you won't always need alprazolam.

Relaxation Breathing: If you want to avoid medication for your panic attacks, i highly revommend the book: the relaxation response by benson. Read the entire book, then start doing the exercises as contained in the book. Start with 5 minutes twice a day working up to 10 minutes twice a day. You will soon learn to relax instantly, anytime you want. Then, you will be better able to wean off of the xanax (alprazolam) slowly over time.
