Not add - ?subsitute: If you are overweight, you certainlly don't want to add anything sugary. While some evidence suggests dark chocolate decreases heart attack risk, it is not a panacea. If you are going to eat sweets, dark chocolate is better than others.

Be careful: There can be many health benefits to dark chocolate including improved cholesterol profiles and decreased blood pressure. But remember, the benefits can readily be overcome by the increased calories that come with chocolate. Your best best is actually baker's chocolate unsweetened but it is quite bitter. You'll need to balance the extra calories in, if you are considering adding it to your diet
