Sprain: Depending on the severity of the sprain it can take anywhere from 1-3 months for the injury to heal. I normally tape my patients once a week for 4-6 weeks and place them on an nsaid, i.e. Advil, (ibuprofen) etc to help reduce pain and swelling. Elevate the ankle as much as possible to reduce swelling. I also do hiss manipulation to re adjust the bones back into position.

Get it rechecked : Since it has been two weeks i would recommend that you return to the clinic to get re-checked. Generally by two weeks we expect an ankle sprain to be significantly better, although it may not be completely better.

Longer to heal: Foot/ankle sprain may take couple of months to heal depending on how severe it is and how much activities you do while having the sprain. If you are heavy and on your feet a lot during day/work etc...A modere/severe sprain will take months to heal. I have one now...6-7 wks now and it still sore--because I am on my feet all day at work, more swollen at end of day, better in am. Good luck.
