Correct the thyroid: There is no easy answer here. The thyroid problem needs to be corrected and it sounds like you're on the right track. The hair loss should improve as your thyroid is controlled.

It will resolve: The hair is breaking off at weak places in the protein and will eventually grow back normally once your thyroid is controlled - but it will take months and there is nothing you can do to speed it up. Ptu (propylthiouracil) can be associated with liver disease, and Methimazole may be a better anti thyroid drug for you. Either one can take months to become effective. Also, consider radioiodine.
