Yes: Ability to taste ptu (propylthiouracil) is inherited. If it is really bothering you ask your thyroidologist to consider other med (methimazole) or treatments. If you have no other side effects - high fever, hives, jaundice, or myalgiasor joint swelling - and can tolerate the taste than keep it up.
