How often should you get a cholostrol check up?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: If you have a family hx of severe cholesterol issues you should be screened as a child. Otherwise screening males at age 35 is recommended. 45 for women. If high risk for coronary artery disease can consider screening m+f at age 20. Repeat testing every five years and may be repeated after an intervention. If you take medications an annual lipid check is worthwhile.
