Crazy: If they knew they were crazy they would seek help or stop being crazy. Crazy people believe they are the norm - hence they remain crazy.

Possibly.: Some people who have lost touch with reality are not aware of it. They have a lack of insight. Other individuals who have lost touch with reality may be painfully aware that something is wrong. One of the saddest things I have seen is individuals who have early schizophrenia who are aware that they are declining cognitively and that something is terribly wrong with their thought process.
