For some, yes!: I'm guessing that by "go crazy" you mean psychotic -- out of touch with consensual reality. So, this depends on your vulnerability and what you're drinking & smoking. For instance, both intoxication and withdrawal from alcohol can cause hallucinations and impulsive behavior. Smoking marijuana can cause paranoia and psychosis -- smoking meth and other substances can do it as well.
