Is it easy to live a normal life with type 1 diabetes?

No, but....: Type1 diabetes requires constant monitoring of things that people without diabetes do not have to do. Yet, since i deal with people that get diagnosed with diabetes at a very early age, you get into your routine and life goes on. My favorite analogy: you do not become a soldier by putting a uniform on, you have to go to bootcamp for 6 weeks!

Yes: If you comply with current medical care standards and take your Insulin regularly you may have a normal life. It is important that you remain educated about type 1 diabetes and understand that exercise and nutrition play an equally importeant roll in the management of your diabetes.
