How can digoxin toxicity cause both hyper and hypokalemia?

It doesnt: Digoxin per se does not cause hyper or hypokalemia. However the effect of potassium level can be worsen by the presence of digoxin. Hyperkalemia causes slow heart beat and hypokalmia causes irregular heart beats which can be worse if digoxin is present.
