By CCF, do you mean congestive heart failure? If so, digoxin is helpful if ejection fraction is diminished. In presistent A Fib digoxin has been safely used for rate control for many years monitoring digoxin levels. While your dad doesn't have digoxin toxicity, he may have side effects. However, having been a digoxin prescriber for very many patients, I've never encountered those side effects.
