Different...: One tube empties into the stomach (g-tube). The other tube empties into a portion of the intestine (jejunum). The tubes are generally different sizes with the j-tube usually smaller. The g-tube can allow for bolus feeds, or feeds given only certain times of the day in large volumes. The j-tube can only allow for smaller volume feeds on a more continuous basis (usually overnight).
