How long does it take to recover from spine surgery?

Depend: Recovery time is dependent on the type of surgery that is performed. Most microdiscectomies have full recovery in 3 to 6 weeks...Depending on peeexidting nerve damage. Most fusions will take 8 to 12 weeks to recover. All will begin walking on the same day of surgery. Many procedures are done as outpatient.

Varies: It varies tremendously. Some of the minimally invasive surgeries that we do have little if any down time. Other, much more extensive spinal surgeries may have recoveries that extend to several months. Thank you for your question.
