No: Acupuncture very rarely leaves any marks. The very thin needles go in and come out easily. Occasionally there is a bruise that clears quickly. Some people easily form excessive scar tissue (keloids) in response to injuries and if you have that problem you may want to request needle-free acupuncture, but i've never heard of scarring from acupuncture.

NO: No. The diameter of the needles is very small. One specific technique of placing a burning cone of mugworth on the skin is called "scarring moxibustion". It is not a technique that i employ. Normally moxibustion is quite warming and pleasant.
