Similarity : volume: The reason this question is asked is usually where people have had "filler injections" placed years ago with collagen and now these are discontinued in favour of hyaluronic acid as the side effect profile is so much lower with the latter. Collagen was derived from cows, so allergic reactions were commonly seen. Other than volume replacement, and being organic molecules there is no similarity.
