Yes: Women who have hep c can get pregnant if they are aware that they can give hep c to the baby. Sucessful treatment with medications to eliminate hep c removes this risk. However, the medications for hep c cause severe fetal harm; women must not get pregnant while on rx and for 6 months after rx is completed. Women must discuss this with primary, ob, or infectious disease doctor.
