Usually No: Autoimmune hepatitis (aih) is generally not passed to children, although there is a possibility they could develop it later in life. Patients can successfully become pregnant, but you would need to work closely with your doctor as some of the medicines for treating aih can cause birth defects and may have to be adjusted.
