High weight low reps: Muscle bulk is generally built by doing higher weights and low reps in an eccentric fashion. Toning is achieved with low weight and high reps. For muscle building try the following: start with a comfortable but challenging weight and do 10 reps in an eccentric fashion. What that means for biceps is to let the weight down slowly as your elbow extends. Increase weight by 5lbs, and do 8reps eccentrically. Increase the weight by another 5lbs and do one more set of curls - 6 reps this time. Your biceps should feel the burn. You are on your way to building bigger and stronger biceps!

Bigger biceps.: Three exercises to research for a bigger biceps will be barbell curls, dumbbell curls and slide curls. While slide curls should be done with lower weights, dumbbell curls and barbell curls can be done with heavier weights. Choose a weight that allows for 8 to 12 reps before muscle exhaustion sets in. Three sets of each exercise once weekly.
