A member asked:

I had a blood clot in my left bicep 5 years ago. clot is gone, but now why do i have big green veins on my left bicep, chest & left ribs instead?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Collaterals: You thrombosed more than your "biceps". You are fortunate you just have this. Your thrombus probably occluded the drainage from your entire upper extremity. The blood now gets back from your arm via a different route. Mr. Stallone had the same thing happen while making "Cliffhanger" and covered the new veins with a tattoo.
