Chest xray needed: This will tell if there is cancer spread to the lungs. If it hasn't, his physician will look for some other treatable disease or call a pulmonologist. If it has, the next question is whether he is a candidate for one of the new therapies that have proved remarkably effective for advanced kidney cancer. Whatever happens, cherish each day that you have your father & remember cancers not contagious.
