Remove Lenses: Contact lenses cause your eyes to turn red and can be painful. Basically the lenses are preventing proper oxygen delivery to the surface of the cornea. After a while, the corneas get irritated and the eye often turns red. What's concerning (and you can't tell) is that the corneal cells may get sick or die without oxygen. You might develop an infection, such as a corneal ulcer...And can blind.
